My first impression of the Netherlands was that of surreal beauty; after crossing the English Channel by ferry and riding a high speed train towards Amsterdam, I looked out at the sun-drenched fields and saw lines of sailboats. I don’t like the boats. Our (first) stay in Amsterdam was quite brief, only 1.5 days.
